Privacy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

This page explains what information Tiewise collects and how it's used. Tiewise is an independent business based in Waterloo Region, Ontario. Questions about privacy go to josh@tiewise.ca.

Files you add to the live demo

Vendor statements and ledger exports you add to the demo are read and processed inside your own web browser. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. The audit trail and any notes you add are stored in your browser's local storage on your device, and you can clear them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

The pilot request form

If you request a pilot, we collect what you enter: your name, work email, company, role, ledger system, statement volume and any message. We use it only to contact you about the pilot program. We don't sell it, and we don't share it except with the service providers below.

Form submissions are received and stored by Netlify, Inc., which hosts this website in the United States. Your information may therefore be stored and processed outside Canada.

Pilot feedback

If you fill in the pilot feedback form, we collect your answers and use them to improve Tiewise. If you tick the box allowing us to quote you, we may publish the quote with your name, title and company. You can withdraw that permission at any time by emailing us, and we'll remove it.

Customers and license keys

When you buy a plan, we keep your organization's name, contact details, plan and billing history to provide the service and meet our tax and accounting obligations. Your license key contains your organization's name, plan and expiry date, and is stored in your browser when you activate it. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., which receives your card details directly; we never see your full card number. Stripe may process information outside Canada.

Website hosting

Like most websites, our host may record basic technical information such as IP addresses and pages visited, to run and secure the site. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts and code libraries from a public content delivery network, which may see your IP address when your browser requests those files.

How long we keep information

We keep pilot requests and feedback for as long as we're in contact about the pilot, and delete them within 12 months after that conversation ends, unless you become a customer. Customer and billing records are kept for as long as you're a customer and then for the period required by Canadian tax law (generally six years).

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing josh@tiewise.ca. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
